Susan Mitchell Susan Mitchell
Susan Mitchell is a vice president at Abt Associates with more than 25 years of experience in the management of USAID-funded health projects. Her senior management positions include four flagship USAID private sector health projects: Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS), Social Marketing Plus for Diarrheal Disease Control (POUZN), Commercial Market Strategies (CMS), and PROFIT. In addition, she has served as a consultant on leveraging the private sector to improve public health outcomes to USAID, UNFPA, and the Asian Development Bank. Ms. Mitchell is an expert in the design and evaluation of private sector programs with a particular emphasis on reproductive and child health.
 
Currently she serves as Project Director for SHOPS and is responsible for managing all aspects of the $95 million USAID-funded project focused on expanding availability, quality, and use of essential health products and services through the private sector. SHOPS works throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
 
Ms. Mitchell has an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Social Studies from Hampshire College.
