Abt Associates: Bold thinkers driving real-world impact
What are the early foundations of mathematical knowledge? Does intervening to improve early skills and knowledge have a lasting impact?
Abt Associates, the University of Denver, and SUNY Buffalo, are conducting a study that addresses these questions. The study tests the effectiveness of a model for scale-up, called TRIAD, which is implemented using the early mathematics curriculum, Building Blocks. Previous rigorous evaluation found Building Blocks to have large impacts on children’s early mathematics knowledge and skills.
This four-year study is funded by a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education. It has three main objectives:
